Sock knitting class

Greetings Storvik!

I am very excited to be teaching an ongoing knitting class.  The knitting guild of Atlantia has different levels of mastery.  To progress, you need to show mastery of different heels and toes for some socks.  We would make socks that show these different methods.

Class name: A Study of Socks

Location: 6313 Jason Street, Cheverly MD

First meeting: March 7th at 7 pm

Next meeting: Will be decided at the first meeting

Description: The Keepers of the Clewe, the Atlantian Knitting Guild, has different levels of expertise (http://knit.atlantia.sca.org/levels.htm).  To pass one of the levels you need to demonstrate different heel and toe samples for socks.  This class will go through the different types of sock heels and toes, combining them into different socks.

Skills needed: Should know how to knit and pearl.  Other techniques will be taught.  If you don’t know how to knit or pearl, contact me to see what we can do to accommodate you.

Materials needed: fingering/sock weight yarn and size 2 double pointed needles.  There will be 3 copies available of the book Folk Socks by Nancy Bush for $6.  Several of the techniques will be taught from this book.

Thank you for letting me share the joy of knitting,

YIS,

Patches
