The monthly Populace Meeting is a chance to check in on the various Baronial activities, discuss upcoming SCA events (both ours and our neighbors’), review the financial health of the Barony, and propose and discuss new and ongoing plans for the group.
- Time/Location: Meetings start at 7:00 pm on the third Sunday of every month, except when it would interfere with a holiday and/or extremely popular SCA event. They are held on Zoom; the link can be found on the Baronial Calendar (link). The room opens approximately a half hour in advance for folks who would like to chat and catch up beforehand.
- What to expect: The Seneschal runs and directs the meeting. Individual officers make their reports, starting with the Seneschal, and ending with the Baronage. After that, we discuss any upcoming events and then any old or new business for the group.
- How to participate: Everyone is welcome to speak and contribute to the conversation. Participants must be paid members of the Society to approve any spending.
- What to wear: Modern clothing is welcome and garb is not required.
- Recordings: Virtual populace meetings are sometimes recorded; if you would prefer not to be recorded reach out to the Senechal at the start of the meeting.
- Minutes: A record of each populace meeting (minutes) can be found in the next month’s newsletter, the Drekkar.
